Rivo vs FORMD: which HYROX app is for you?
Updated · Rivo
Rivo and FORMD do the same core job, a predicted HYROX® finish and a training plan built around the stations costing you time, so the choice comes down to the details. Pick FORMD if you want Android, Doubles team planning, an AI chat about your plan, eight languages or an app on HYROX’s training-partner list; pick Rivo if you want the finish shown as a range with a confidence label, a cheaper plan with a longer trial, and race-day targets for every run and station on an Apple Watch. FORMD costs $19.99 a month, $49.99 a quarter or $139.99 a year after a 3-day trial; Rivo’s Plan costs $14.99 a month or $79.99 a year after a 14-day trial (US App Store prices as of October 2026).
Rivo publishes this page, so weigh it accordingly. Every FORMD fact below comes from FORMD’s App Store listing, including its screenshots, or its website, tryformd.com, read on 3 October 2026; where FORMD is ahead, the table says so.

Rivo: its own feature list. US prices and ratings, 3 October 2026. “Not listed” means FORMD’s listing and website don’t claim it.
FORMD is ahead on six rows: Doubles, the chat, Android, languages, the HYROX partner listing and ratings. Rivo is ahead on price, trial length and race-day targets on the watch. On the prediction and the plan they differ in method, not in kind.
Is FORMD free?
Not its plan. FORMD’s App Store listing says it requires a subscription for training plans and personalised features, from $19.99 a month after a 3-day free trial that includes every feature. Its web calculator is free and asks for no account: a 5K time, sex, age bracket and race type return a projected finish, your percentile against race data and a station-by-station split.
Is Rivo free?
The Number is. With no account, it turns a 5 km time and your sled push and sled pull times, or a race result you claim, into a predicted finish with its range and a confidence label, the stations costing you time in seconds, your place in your division and age group, and a card to share. The Plan is $14.99 a month or $79.99 a year after a 14-day free trial, cancel any time.
Which shows a range, Rivo or FORMD?
Both, in different places. FORMD’s App Store screenshots show one projected finish time and an estimated range for each station, such as 3:51 to 6:03 on the SkiErg; Rivo shows the finish itself as a p10–p90 range, with a label for how sure it is. FORMD says athletes typically land within 2–5 minutes of its prediction; we have not tested that claim.
Does FORMD work on Android?
Yes. FORMD is on Google Play, with 10+ downloads on 3 October 2026 and a last update on 27 August 2026, and its website says the app is on the App Store and Google Play. Rivo is iPhone only.
Does FORMD work with Apple Watch and Garmin?
Apple Watch, yes: FORMD’s watch app runs your session with the current exercise, timers, rest and live heart rate, and writes workouts back to Apple Health. Neither FORMD’s listing nor its website lists Garmin support; FORMD’s own comparison with ROXFIT gives its wearables as “Apple Watch (expanding)”. Rivo works with Apple Watch too, where it schedules your sessions in the Workout app and shows your race-day targets, and does not work with Garmin.
Which is cheaper, Rivo or FORMD?
Rivo, by the month and by the year: $14.99 against $19.99 a month and $79.99 against $139.99 a year, with a 14-day trial against FORMD’s 3 days. FORMD also offers a quarter at $49.99, and its in-app price list shows a 12-Week HYROX Prep at $19.99 and a Doubles Team Unlock at $29.99.
Which is better for HYROX Doubles?
FORMD. Partners join with a team code, FORMD works out who takes which station, builds both plans around that split and shows a combined team finish projection. Rivo has no team planning.
What does FORMD do that Rivo doesn’t?
- Android, on Google Play.
- Doubles teams: a shared station split and a team projection.
- A chat about your plan, typed or spoken, that knows your baselines and race date.
- Eight languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish.
- HYROX’s training-partner list: FORMD is on HYROX’s online training partners page; Rivo is not affiliated with HYROX.
- A results database: breakdowns and percentiles for any athlete’s published HYROX results.
- Ratings: 110 on the US App Store at 4.9; Rivo has none yet.
What does Rivo do differently?
- The finish as a range, p10 to p90, with a confidence label, free in the app.
- Race-day targets on the Apple Watch: 16 of them, one for every run and station plus an allowance for the time between stations, built from your prediction for your next dated race.
- A plan aimed at lifters who can’t run, with a compromised run every week and each four-week block built around your two costliest stations.
- Price and trial: $79.99 a year against $139.99, and 14 days to try it against 3.
- The dial: move one station and see the finish change.
