What’s a good HYROX time?

Updated · Rivo

A good HYROX® time is one that beats the median for your division, sex and age group: in the 2025/26 season that was 1:27:52 for Open men and 1:36:19 for Open women. A top-25% finish took under 1:17:47 for men and 1:26:01 for women, and the top 10% finished under 1:10:34 and 1:18:39.

Every number on this page is computed from 702,095 public HYROX results from 98 venues in the 2025/26 season, each with all 16 splits. Below are the times for every division and age group, how long a race takes, what separates a good time from an average one, and how much the venue moves your time.

The median is the middle finisher: half the field was faster. The average sits above it because the slowest finishers pull it up, which is why the median is the fairer answer to "what is the average HYROX time". Top 25% means faster than three in four of the field; top 10%, faster than nine in ten.

How long does HYROX take?

Most athletes take between an hour and a quarter and an hour and three quarters. Half of all 2025/26 finishes, every division together, landed between 1:15:35 and 1:37:28, and the middle finisher crossed the line in 1:25:14. One in ten finished under 1:08:18; one in ten took longer than 1:52:16.

Racing alone takes longer than racing as a pair. The median singles finish, Open and Pro together, was 1:29:42, against 1:23:04 for mixed doubles teams. The race itself is the same everywhere: eight 1 km runs, each followed by a station, in this order: SkiErg 1000 m, sled push 50 m, sled pull 50 m, burpee broad jumps 80 m, row 1000 m, farmers carry 200 m, sandbag lunges 100 m and 100 wall balls. Every move between a run and a station goes through the roxzone, and that time counts too.

Ninety minutes splits the Open field: 55% of Open men and 35% of Open women finished under 1:30:00 in 2025/26. Under 80 minutes put a man in the fastest 31% and a woman in the fastest 12%. Under 70 minutes takes a man into the fastest 9% and a woman into the fastest 2%.

Is 1:30 a good HYROX time?

For an Open woman, yes: only 35% of Open women finished faster than 1:30:00. For an Open man it sits just behind the middle: 55% of Open men were faster, because the men’s median is 1:27:52. A 1:20:00 is a strong time for both: faster than all but 31% of Open men and 12% of Open women.

Read your time against the table like this, for Open:

  • Good: faster than the median, 1:27:52 for men and 1:36:19 for women.
  • Very good: top 25%, under 1:17:47 and 1:26:01.
  • Excellent: top 10%, under 1:10:34 and 1:18:39.
  • Elite for Open: top 5%, under 1:07:03 and 1:14:52.

Good HYROX times by age group

Age changes HYROX times little until the mid-forties. Open men aged 25–29 had a median of 1:25:24; men aged 40–44 were only 3:56 slower, and men aged 50–54 9:08 slower. Women’s times change even less with age: from 25–29 to 50–54 the Open women’s median slowed by 5:59, from 1:34:39 to 1:40:38.

A woman of 50–54 who finishes in 1:30:21 is in the top quarter of her age group, faster than the median woman of 25–29. Judge your time against your own age group, not the whole field.

What’s a good HYROX time in Pro?

Pro carries heavier loads: the men’s sled push is 202 kg against 152 kg in Open, the women’s 152 kg against 102 kg, sled included. Pro medians were still faster than Open, 1:20:52 for men and 1:26:48 for women: the Pro field is made of faster athletes, not lighter work. A good Pro time beats the Pro median; the top 25% of Pro men finished under 1:11:48 and the top 25% of Pro women under 1:17:14.

In doubles both athletes run every 1 km and the pair splits each station however they like, so teams finish faster than singles. The median men’s team finished in 1:16:11, the median mixed team in 1:23:04 and the median women’s team in 1:28:12. A top-25% team was under 1:08:53, 1:14:53 and 1:20:25. In Pro Doubles the median men’s team finished in 1:09:49 and the median women’s team in 1:19:55.

What separates a good time from an average one?

Take Open men who finished in 75 to 80 minutes and those who finished in 95 to 100. The 19:52 between them splits almost evenly: 8:28 on the eight runs, 9:01 on the eight stations and 2:26 in the roxzone.

Running is the largest single block of the race: 47% of the average Open men’s finish and 48% of the average Open women’s, with the stations at 44% and 43% and the roxzone at about 9%.

Among the stations, three separate the two groups most: wall balls by 2:31, burpee broad jumps by 1:44 and sandbag lunges by 1:31. The last run alone differs by 1:31. The sled push, for all its load, differs by only 0:41. Women show the same pattern: wall balls by 2:02, burpee broad jumps by 1:57, the last run by 1:25.

Does the venue change what a good time is?

Yes. Courses differ: the start, where the timing mats sit, the length of the roxzone, and how the sleds run. To measure how much, we compared the 44,243 athletes who raced at two or more venues in 2025/26 with themselves. The same athletes finished 5.5% faster at Warsaw than at their other venues, and 11.9% slower at Puebla. On a 90-minute finish, that is about 4:57 faster at one and 10:43 slower at the other.

HYROX season 2025/26, Open and Pro singles who raced at two venues or more; 93 venues with at least 50 such results. Fastest 5 first, then the slowest 5.

So a time is only good or bad against its venue as well as its field. The same athlete can run several minutes faster at a fast course without being any fitter.

Is there a good time for a first HYROX?

Public results don’t mark anyone’s first race, so no results table can give a true first-timer median. The fair benchmark is the median for your division, sex and age group above. For a target of your own, start from your own numbers: Rivo’s free Number turns a 5 km time and your sled push and sled pull times into a predicted finish with the range it could land in, and shows the station costing you the most time.

How these numbers were made

  • Source: 702,095 public HYROX race results from 98 venues in the 2025/26 season, read through pyrox-client, an independent open-source client, and loaded on 2 September 2026. Only results with all 16 splits and a finish between 40 and 300 minutes count, the same rows Rivo ranks athletes against.
  • Percentiles, not averages, unless a table says average. Top 10% is the 10th percentile of finish time. Doubles and relay times are team times.
  • Small groups are left blank. Every table shows how many results sit behind each row; a row with fewer than 50 results shows no times. Adaptive results are not published.
  • The venue comparison uses Open and Pro singles who raced at two or more venues in the season: each venue’s effect is what it did to their finish, against their own finishes elsewhere. Athletes also get fitter through a season, so the gap between the venues raced in each half of it is taken out. Championship and invitational races are left out of it.
  • Nothing here describes one athlete. No names, no single result, no fastest or slowest time: only counts and percentiles of groups.
